What Do I Need to Get Started?

 

To get started with Gen Z Cyber Academy, learners need the correct basic equipment and a reliable setup for online learning.

 

A computer or laptop is recommended for the best learning experience. An i5 device or similar will work well.

 

Learners may use any make or brand, as long as the device can open Canvas, Zoom and other required learning tools without difficulty.

 

Learners will also need a steady internet connection to attend live classes, access learning material, upload assignments and complete online assessments.

 

A stable connection helps learners stay focused and prevents them from missing important parts of the lesson.

 

Because online learning depends on technology, parents should also plan for backup power and backup internet during loadshedding, power failures or service interruptions.

 

This may include a UPS, inverter, power bank, mobile data or another internet option.

 

Learners should have a quiet learning space where they can attend classes, listen properly, take part in lessons and complete their work without unnecessary distractions.

 

Parents are encouraged to check that the learner’s device, internet, camera, microphone and required apps are working before classes and assessments begin.
