FAQ
DOE Registration for Grade R–9 Learners
Important Information for Grade R–9 Parents
Parents of Grade R–9 learners are required to register their child with the Department of Education as a homeschool learner.
Gen Z Cyber Academy will assist parents by providing the necessary supporting documents and application form, but the final responsibility for registration remains with the parent.
As a homeschool parent, you are also responsible for keeping proper records of your child’s learning and progress. This includes ensuring that your child attends classes, completes homework, submits assignments on time, and takes part in required assessments.
The Department of Education requires Grade 3, Grade 6 and Grade 9 learners to be registered for home education.
Parents are responsible for keeping proper records of their child’s learning and progress. This includes attendance, completed homework, submitted assignments, assessments, reports and any important academic communication.
Parents must also make sure that learners attend classes, complete daily work, submit assignments on time and stay up to date with their schoolwork.
